How to notarize something



  • Q: I have won a prize on an instant win game on the net but it says because the prize is worth 1... dollars I have to print and sign an affidavit and notarize it. It sounds like a lot of work but I really want my prize. So how do I notarize it and where do I go to do it?
          A: If you are sure that it's not a scam please fill out your affidavit (never ever include your SS# or other sensitive information), get your ID and find a Notary Public. You will have to sign  the affidavit in front of a Notary
  • Q: How to notarize a letter?
          A:  Prepare a letter, do not sign it, find a a Notary Public. You will have to sign the letter in front  of a Notary, who will need to include a special signature and stamp.
  • Q: My father recently died in colombia. He was an american citizen and I need his death certificate to continue the process of claiming assets. I have the official death certificate but, the problem is it's in Spanish and I need it translated and notarized in the USA in order to be able to use it in the USA. Does anybody know where I would get a document like this translated and notarized if i present the original foreign death certificate? How much should it cost? I live in CT 
          A:  You will need to do the Certified translation from Spanish to English and the signature of the    translator  needs to be notarized as well as the copy of the death certificate should be done as a Copy Certification by document custodian
  • Q: How to notarize a car title?
          A: Sign on Line 2 of the Certificate of Title to release your interest as the                 legal owner. DO NOT sign on Line 1 if you are to remain the registered owner(s).

What to do about a lost Certificate of Title

If you have lost your Certificate of Title after the legal owner released interest in the vehicle, you must obtain a new release on an   Application for Duplicate Title (REG 227) or a Lien Satisfied/Title Holder Release (REG 166).
